Cyclone Nargis, Myanmar and China earthquake (See
the latest reports on the left 11th June)
200 ShelterBoxes have been earmarked for China and the charity
has been formally asked to help in the affected areas. In
spite of the rising death toll foreign nationals have not
been allowed into Myanmar to help with relief work. Flights
given permission to land must be unloaded by the Myanmar
armed forces. However, ShelterBox has been granted
visas for 4 Response Team Members and they are training
the Government personnel who will take the Boxes to the
Irrawaddy delta area. 1648 ShelterBoxes have been
identified for Myanmar. Rotary has played a significant
part in the disaster relief but why is there no mention
of Rotary in the press?
Can your Rotary Club help?
Funds are urgently needed to replenish the stocks
of all the Box Organisations and to help pay for the cost
of cargo space on flights to China and Myanmar. Aquabox
ask that Rotary clubs return all Aquaboxes as a matter of
urgency so that they may be shipped to either China or Myanmar.

the occasion the Director of Postal Services in India released

I have done. Please accept my thanks for giving me
the opportunity to be your District International Chairman.
